Years ago, at my workplace, whenever our boss stepped out, some colleagues would run to his chair and start “issuing orders” as a joke. Sitting on his seat made them feel like they had authority. I just smiled because I knew something they didn’t: “I don’t need this chair. I already have a higher seat; I am seated with Christ.”

Friend, you have a higher position. Really, you are seated with Christ. You hold a higher position in the realm of the spirit. For every position you hold on earth, there must be a spiritual position backing it. Many people chase titles among men without first securing their place in God. The higher you rise physically, the higher you must rise spiritually (Psalm 110:1-3).

Taking your seat of authority is intentional (Colossians 3:1-3).
You’ve already been seated with Christ in heavenly places, but it’s your awareness of that truth that makes it real in your daily life (Ephesians 1:19-23, 2:6). When a king sits on his throne of judgment, he scatters evil just by his gaze (Proverbs 20:8).

If the devil cannot pull you down from your spiritual seat, he cannot defeat you (Nehemiah 6:3). When people tell me, “The devil is oppressing me,” my question is: “Where did you meet?” Someone left their place. And it wasn’t the devil. It was you.
You leave your place when you get dragged into carnal battles (2 Corinthians 10:3-4, Ephesians 4:27).

From your seat in the spirit, one of your key assignments is to decree (Psalm 2:7). It’s to declare what you want to see manifest on earth. Kings don’t beg or argue — they decree (Job 22:28, Ecclesiastes 8:4). You’re not meant to be wondering what’s happening. You’re meant to be determining what happens.

You’re not supposed to be chasing people. From your place of authority, you draw power that draws people to you (Psalm 110:3). You cannot be begging God and begging men at the same time. Talk to God about men, and God will talk to men about you. When you operate from your seat in the spirit, people become willing helpers (1 Chronicles 12:18).
