A man of God once shared a story with us years ago. He ministered in a city, and after the meeting, an older minister met him lamenting. He said, “I started with so and so, but I have nothing to show.” He laboured faithfully, yet he failed to manage his seasons. Labour without timing does not produce lasting results.
Friend, learn to manage your seasons. Life is in phases, and men are in sizes. Understanding your phase and managing transitions is key to fulfilment (Ephesians 5:17). Truth reveals where God has been, anointing reveals where He is, and revelation reveals where He is going. You need all three to navigate well.
You cannot rise beyond your level of revelation (Galatians 2:2). Truth stabilises you. Anointing equips you. Revelation transitions you. Knowing what God is doing per time helps you partner correctly with Him. God will not show you what is next on your plan, but what is next on His plan (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Transition seasons demand focus. You cannot be distracted and stay accurate with God (1 Kings 20:40). Elisha had to fix his eyes on Elijah to receive the double portion (2 Kings 2:9-14). Peter lost focus on the Mount of Transfiguration and spoke wrongly (Matthew 17:1-5). Focus determines what you receive in transition.
Transition also requires sensitivity. It is wiser to pray, “Lord, what would You have me do?” than “Lord, do something” (Acts 9:6). God is always working, but you must discern how to align with Him. Knowing your own part in His present move is what helps you maximise the season you are in.
Doing the right thing at the wrong time is costly. Gehazi collecting gifts from Naaman was not evil, but the timing was wrong (2 Kings 5:26). It was his season for learning and impartation, not for gain (2 Kings 5:20-21). He chased what to get instead of what to become. What about you? Do you know what God is doing now in your life?
