A rich man came to meet a man of God and asked; “I heard that you do see visions and tell people about their future. Can you tell me mine?” The man of God replied yes, I do. Let me tell you your future; “If you are saved and righteous, it would be well with you. But if not, it would not be well with you.” The man, trembling, responded; “Are you cursing me?” The pastor replied; “I’m only telling you what the Bible says about you.”

Friend, your future is in the scriptures (Hebrews 10:7). But do you know what the Bible says about you? Really, the greatest prophecy about your future is in the word of God. If you marry yourself with the Bible, you can always know your end (Psalm 37:37). Those who live in fear of the future or the devil are those who don’t know what God has said concerning them.

If you don’t know God’s word, you would be a victim of false prophets and false prophecies (Isaiah 8:18-20). This is why the price you pay sitting under the teaching of God’s word is an investment into your future of greatness with God. If you don’t endure sound doctrine, you would endure deceptions in the hands of the devil and his agents (2 Peter 2:1-2).

The picture of your future is in the scriptures (Psalm 119:133). Like God told Abraham, when you walk through the North (Genesis), the South (Malachi), the East (Mathew), and the West (Revelation), what you see there are God’s promises for your taking (Genesis 13:14-17). It is as far as you can see. Therefore, Bible study is territory taking.

You need to take your Bible study from general to specific (Hebrews 13:5-6). Even though God speaks to all Christians generally from the Bible, you need to make it personal. It is the truth that is revealed to you that you can believe and receive. The truth of God’s word is what delivers you from the lies of the devil and also delivers your inheritance in destiny to you (John 8:31-32, Acts 20:32).

Like the response of the pastor in our opening story, if you are not saved, your future is not safe (Psalm 73:1-18). But if you are saved, your future is guaranteed in God. No matter who you are and what you have, if you don’t have Jesus, all is a waste. Jesus makes all the difference. As a child of God, you are not supposed to doubt what God has said or fear what the devil is saying. Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Hallelujah.
