Two men visited the hospital for a check-up. One had a terminal disease while the other was perfectly okay. Unfortunately, their medical results were mis-presented; the healthy man was given the result of the man with the terminal disease and vice versa. Amazingly, the healthy man died within six months as predicted medically while the other man continued to live despite his terminal disease. It was their consciousness that determined their reality.

Friend, your consciousness is what determines your reality (2 Kings 6:15-17). It is not what is in your body that determines your health. It is what is in your mind and consciousness (Proverbs 4:23, Matthew 15:11,18-20). Notice the strategy of God for the healing of the Isrealites in the wilderness. Anytime they were bitten by the serpent, they were to look at the image of the bronze serpent hung on the pole (Numbers 21:8-9). God was directing their focus and consciousness away from the serpent bite. Once they did, they lived.

You need to look away from what the devil is doing to what Christ has done on the cross (Colossians 2:14-15). What you focus on magnifies. You cannot be thinking death and live long. In the same way, if you think life, plan life, and live fully and consciously, you would outlive whatever sickness there is in your body. Truly, what kills people is not sickness. It is their consciousness (Proverbs 23:7).

What if the report you picked from the hospital is one that certified you healthy? Don’t you think you would live bolder and better? Like the healthy man in our opening story, many people die because they are carrying the wrong report. Whose report are you going to believe; what the doctor says, or what the word of God says (Isaiah 53:1-5)? Jesus has given you another report. Focus on that report and make it your reality.

Until the word of God and the promise of scriptures become your consciousness, you won’t live in the reality of them (2 Corinthians 1:20). It is not enough to receive prophecies for the year; you need to be conscious of those prophecies. The way to be conscious of them is to imagine them in your mind and confess them with your mouth (Romans 10:10). Your confession becomes your consciousness, and your consciousness is what becomes your reality.

What are you conscious of this year? Are you conscious of failure or success? Are you conscious of sicknesses or health and wholeness? Are you sin-conscious or righteousness-conscious? Like Job, it is not the attack of the devil that destroys people; it is the fear in their heart (Job 3:25). While faith is God-consciousness, fear is satan-consciousnes. Faith sees and produces miracles. Fear sees and produces obstacles (Numbers 13:25-33). What are you conscious of?
