While working secularly those days, some of my colleagues would do something funny when our departmental head was not on seat. They would sit on his chair and jokingly issue commands. To them, it felt good sitting on his seat and “discharging” authority. I laughed each time I saw them do this with the thinking that “I don’t have to sit on this seat to wield influence in this office, I have a higher position in the spirit. I am seated with Christ. “
Friend, you are seated with God. You have a higher position with God and in the spirit. For every position that you have in the physical, there must be a corresponding spiritual position that you must occupy to service that position. A lot of people desire positions among men without first securing their place in the spirit. The higher you climb or want to climb in the physical, the higher you must climb in the spirit (Psalms 110:1-3).
Sitting in your place of authority is something you must consciously do (Colossians 3:1-3). You are already seated with Christ in Heavenly places, but your consciousness of the same is what validates its reality in your experience on earth (Ephesians 1:19-23, 2:6). When a king is seated on his throne of judgement, he scatters evil with his eyes (Proverbs 20:8).
If the devil cannot get you to come down from your throne and position in the spirit, he cannot get you defeated (Nehemiah 6:3). When I hear people say that the devil is oppressing them, I ask them; “Where did you meet? Someone has definitely left his place, and it’s sure not the devil, but you?” You leave your place by letting the devil get you into carnal fight (2 Corinthians 10:3-4, Ephesians 4:27).
One of the things you do in your spiritual position is to make decrees (Psalms 2:7). It is to declare what you want to see in the physical. Kings don’t argue; they simply decree (Job 22:28, Ecclesiastes 8:4). You are not supposed to be wandering what’s happening. You are supposed to be determining what is happening.
You are not supposed to be running after people. You are supposed to secure power from your place of authority in the spirit that would compel men to come (Psalms 110:3). You cannot beg God and beg man at the same time. If you talk to God about men, God will talk to men about you. People become volunteers and ready helpers when you operate from your place of authority in the spirit (1 Chronicles 12:18). You are seated with Christ.
