We got chatting in my office that day. He brought up the issue of getting a vehicle for mobility. Then he said something that revealed his mindset. “Sir, I would like to get a van, not any other type of car.” When I asked his reason, he said. “That kind of vehicle would be more needed for my business needs.” He prioritize purpose above pleasure.
Friend, there is wisdom for career and business. This wisdom will teach you to prioritize your life and activities to ensure maximum success. You prioritize building a career or business for a firm footing above living in pleasure (Proverbs 24:27). Differentiate between your sowing and your harvest season (Genesis 8:22).
Your first breakthrough in business is not for spending but for investing. Focus on building a career before building a castle. The firm foundation you lay for your career/business success will help you to carry the weight of success so you won’t crash under it when it comes.
Wisdom will teach you to separate your capital from your profits and not spend it all (Proverbs 21:20). Wisdom will teach you to value relationship above money. One good relationship well nurtured will do more than handbills or other forms of advertisements will do for you (Genesis 41:9-16).
Prioritize growth and hone your skills. Be diligent in ‘your business’ so you can stand before kings and not ordinary people (Proverbs 22:29). Use small platforms to develop expertise for big platforms. Big shots are simply small shots that keep shooting until they become big. Pursue excellence (Daniel 6:3).
Use your career and business platforms to fulfil divine purpose (Esther 4:14). Let God advance His kingdom via your career and business. Let Jesus be glorified via it. Cooperate with God. Submit to His purpose and counsel via your career/business. He will do beyond your widest imagination and take you to heights beyond your efforts (Ephesians 3:20).
