I still remember vividly how he ordered us out of his office that day and threw out our papers. We had taken our drafts to him as our project supervisor. He was not satisfied with our work. It was our final year project. We were humiliated that day. But I told my other colleagues; “I’m not moved by this humiliation. I’m still going to have an “A” grade in this course.” True to my words, I had an “A” in the course. I realised that winning is an attitude.

Friend, winning is an attitude. Listen, when it comes to success, attitude is more important than aptitude (Proverbs 23:7). This is one reason talented people fail. They have a bad attitude. Someone has rightly said that a bad attitude is like having a flat tyre. If you don’t fix it, you are not going anywhere.

You need to fix your attitude. It is not the way life or people treat you that matters. It is how you respond (2 Corinthians 4:7-14). Actually, the difference between successful people and failures is how they approach life and situations. Leaders respond while followers react. Living life as a reaction is one proof of mediocrity.

Attitude makes hundered per cent. If you map each letter in ATTITUDE to their numerical equivalent (A, repesenting 1, B representing 2, etc.), you would notice they all add up to one hundred. No other word equals hundred. Once you have the right attitude, every other thing will fall in place. The right attitude would help you acquire the right knowledge (Ecclesiastes 10:10, 15). It would help you handle failure correctly.

Attitude is everything. The right attitude will help you to bounce back from failure (Micah 7:8). It would also help you to handle success correctly. A man with a bad attitude will not succeed with success. His success becomes a trap rather than being a trigger for more success (2 Chronicles 26:1-16).

The right attitude is attractive. It will attract the right opportunities, relationships, and miracles. Notice the response of the Syrophenician woman to the seeming ridicule of Jesus, and you would realise how the right attitude can birth miracles (Mark 7:25-30). Can you stand insults on your way to the miraculous? Your attitude would determine that (2 Kings 5:10-14). Truly, winning is an attitude.
