I was surprised when I heard my daughters “arguing” about who would win the presidential election in our country. Each of them kept saying so and so would win while the other was for another candidate. I interrupted them; “Whoever becomes the president would be for our good.” That settled it for them.

Friend, your reality is determined by your alignment with God’s plan and purpose, not by what is happening in society. Remember that, as a church, we are a nation inside a nation (1 Peter 2:9). We can experience God in the midst of what is happening around. One way to determine your lot is by what you say (Job 22:29).

God specialises in prospering His people during difficult times (Job 5:22). The Church thrives better in persecution. What the enemy meant for evil, God has a way of turning it around for our good. It is not over with you, your family, and our nation until God says so. The Most High God still rules in the affairs of men (Daniel 4:17).

The issue is not only about who is in power but about who is in charge of your life (Psalms 46:1-7). Despite that Jesus was the Messiah, His first coming was for the fall and rising of many (Luke 2:34). It depends on whose side you belong to. Life is more about positioning than about who is in position. You need to position yourself for God’s best this season.

Don’t join them to say what they are saying. Don’t use your own mouth to cancel your own destiny. Death and life still lie in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Learn to use your tongue correctly this season. It is better to say nothing than to say rubbish (Luke 1:18-20). It is better to be quiet than to speak against your own destiny (Ecclesiastes 5:6).

God has a plan for you this season. For some, it is to get out of the country. For others, it is to remain where they are (Genesis 26:1-14). Never allow the situation around to determine your location. Follow divine direction, not life’s circumstances. No matter how difficult it is for the world, this still remains the best season for God’s people (Isaiah 60:1-3). Amen!
