Years ago, I heard a profound statement that shaped my approach to finances for life and destiny.

It says; “If your outgo exceeds your income, then your upkeep will ultimately become your downfall.”

This statement provides timely guidance for the times we are in.

Friend, income is meant to come in.

But what do you do when income does not come in?

How do you navigate your financial life, especially in the season we are in?

You need to understand that God has a plan for your financial life.

He also has wisdom in His word for you to navigate whatever economic challenge or terrain you might be in (Psalms 35:27, Proverbs 4:7).

You need to understand that what God plans for you is income, not just salary.

The reason a lot of people would continue to live below God’s plan for their financial life is because of their being fixated on their salary (Genesis 31:7, 41, Colossians 3:23-24).

While salary is very important. It is not meant to sustain your life and destiny.

Your salary is a seed. What you do with it would determine your financial reality (Genesis 8:22).

The biblical Eden gives us a glimpse into God’s plan for provisions and resources.

Eden was fed by four streams (Genesis 2:8-15).

These streams were to ensure that the garden where God placed Adam was well resourced.

This was why there was freshness and abundance in Eden.

If your life would be fresh and abundantly resourced, you need a minimum of four streams of income.

A lot of people have multiple streams of outgo, but a single stream of income. It just would not work.

Again, if your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep would be your downfall.

Whereas there are a lot you can do to cut down on your expenses or outgo, increasing or diversifying your income is another wisdom you need to learn if you don’t want to be deprived of basic needs (Genesis 13:2).

There is no job, business, career, or ministry that cannot enjoy multiple streams of income.

What you need is for God to open your eyes (Genesis 21:19).

Most people don’t have a money problem. They just have wisdom problem (Proverbs 21:20).

Wisdom would teach you to leverage your skills, gifts, relationships, spare time, opportunities, education, exposures, etc. for financial inflow (2 Kings 4:1-7).

May income truly come in for you!
