I noticed the shock on their faces when I told the audience that I sold practically everything edible for and with my mum while growing up. It was a peculiar season that helped the family. Aside from that, it was the leadership attitudes that I developed those days that are helping me to date. I encouraged them about whatever their hands find to do.

Friend, whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might (Ecclesiastes 9:10). I know you desire to work in a multinational company. What about where you work at the moment? What diligence are you making there? Joseph was diligent in managing Potiphar’s house. It was not long that he was told to manage the whole nation of Egypt (Genesis 41:41-44).

I know you have dreamt of opening shopping malls around major cities in the world. What about the kiosk you are currently running? How are you doing it (Proverbs 22:29)? The skills you would need to handle a shopping mall you would develop while managing a kiosk. The credibility you have built in managing that small shop will be your leverage in managing shopping malls (Proverbs 20:6).

Perhaps you have seen visions and received prophecies about preaching to tens of thousands of people around the world. How about the Sunday school class of five students you are asked to manage in Church (1 Samuel 17:28, Psalms 78:70-72)? Or are you reserving your finest teachings and revelations until that time? That time may never come.

God does not push people into their big destiny. He prepares them with their little opportunities. How do you handle menial things? It is not the job that makes the man. It is the man that makes the job. When you give a small job to a person with a great mind, he would turn it around. But give a big job to a mediocre, he would reduce the job to the size of his mind. Your mentality will ultimately affect your reality (Proverbs 23:7).

While waiting for big breakthroughs, take note of the small breaks you are having at the moment and pour life and labours into it. If you have not been faithful in small things, don’t expect God to give you big things (Luke 16:10-12). In case you are not even sure of what you should be doing with your life now, handle what you are currently doing well (Amos 7:14-15). In it, you would receive clarity and direction on what’s next.
