One Sunday morning, a pastor’s wife got ready for church, feeling beautiful and grateful for God’s design. But as she gazed in the mirror, a subtle whisper crept into her mind: “You’re too beautiful for ministry; shouldn’t you be doing something more meaningful with your life?” Despite her best efforts to dismiss the voice, it lingered, whispering doubts and derailing her focus.

Friend, whose voice are you listening to? Who’s counselling you (Genesis 3:1-9)? What made you think you are too beautiful for God and ministry? Why do you think your talents, gifts,
and abilities are not worth using for God? Why do you think serving God is below your status (Philippians 3:1-10)?

Stewardship is using your time, talents, and treasures to serve the purpose of God in your generation (1 Corinthians 4:7). People get into error when they begin to promote the gift above the giver. You must always remember that all that you are and all that you have are given to you by God (John 3:27).

Serving God is a privilege, not a right (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Like the donkey, submitting your back for Jesus to ride is something you must not take for granted. The glory belongs to Jesus, not you. When people appreciate your preaching, singing, or even beauty, always give all the glory to God (John 12:12-16).

A proud man is someone who’s full of himself (Isaiah 14:12-15). He lives daily thinking of himself alone. He never accommodates God in his heart and thoughts. He worships himself. He’s so obsessed with who or what God has made him rather than focusing on the maker. He uses the gift of God against God, the giver (Luke 12:16-21).

You are not too beautiful or intelligent for God (Philippians 3:7). Obeying the call of God into ministry with your first class from campus is never a waste. When people talk about what they left to obey God, I wonder if they really left anything compared to where and what Jesus left to die for you and live in you (Philippians 2:5-11).
