As I contemplated answering God’s call into full-time ministry and starting a new work, my covenant friend reached out to me that day; “Pastor Demola, I’ve been burdened about you lately. What’s happening? What’s God saying to you?” I knew he had been praying for me, and God had positioned him as an intercessor for us at that critical phase of our lives. I learnt about the power of intercession.

Friend, fulfilling your God-given destiny will always be a result of divinely orchestrated relationships (Luke 1:41). Each relationship has a part to play in your life. You need intercessors. These are people who would take it upon themselves to pray for your vision and see to its fulfilment. Every vision is at the mercy of those who are praying to see it fulfilled (Luke 2:25-38).

Two ministries that are continuously going on in the spirit are the ministry of accusation and the ministry of intercession. The former is headed by Satan, who is the accuser of the brethren, while the latter is headed by Jesus Christ, who is our advocate (1 John 2:1, Revelation 12:10). Just as the devil raises people to accuse you and resist your vision, Jesus also raises people to intercede for you and assist your vision.

Every man of destiny must pray intercessors into his life and vision. The voice of intercession must be stronger and louder than the voice of the accusation if you hope to fulfil your destiny. If God has placed a burden in your heart to intercede for someone, please do it heartily and with commitment because you are fulfilling a ministry that is very pivotal to the fulfilment of God’s purpose and agenda on the earth (1 Samuel 12:23).

Did you notice that there was a Simeon and an Anna who prayed for years to see the vision and prophecy of Jesus’ birth come to realisation (Luke 2:25-40)? If Jesus needed intercessions to fulfil God’s purpose for His life, you also need it more than anything else. You need to rise up and ask God to send you vision helpers in the name of intercessors.

Sometimes, you need intercessors more than financiers if you hope to succeed in life. Whereas financiers supply you money, intercessors determine all other supplies in your life (Philippians 1:19-20). May the voice of intercessors silence every voice of accusation around your life and destiny!
