A man of God asked his congregation a tempting question one day. He asked; “How many of you believe that God can give you a car tonight?” Nobody raised a hand except one young man. To the surprise of everyone, the young man was handed a car key by the pastor; God had instructed him to give someone a car. It was this young man who aligned his thoughts with his prayer.
Friend, God is not getting things ready for you. He is getting you ready for things. In Christ, all that has to do with your life and destiny has been finished (Hebrews 4:3). God is done preparing things for you. You are the one that He is preparing for things (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).
It is possible to be praying for something that your heart is not ready for. It is possible to ask for something that your mind does not align with (Acts 12:13-15).
One of the ways to get yourself ready is to engage the power of your imagination (Genesis 11:1-6). The truth is, what you don’t imagine, you cannot emerge in (Ephesians 3:20). Your mind can either be the prison of your dreams or the incubator of the same. A lot of times, you reduce the size of God’s vision for you to the size of your mind.
Your imagination is proof that you believe in the future well enough to journey into it in your mind (Proverbs 23:7). It must first happen in your mind before it happens in your life. This was what God did for Abraham. He helped him to imagine himself in the promises of God (Genesis 13:14-18). Until you see what God is saying, you cannot enter into His promises.
What about you? Are you imagining yourself in the promises and prophecies of God spoken over your life this year (Isaiah 54:1-3)? Are you seeing yourself carrying your babies? Do you see yourself in the well structured office at that job of your dream? How about your marriage this year? Do you see yourself happily married in your husband’s house? Do you see yourself influencing lives for Jesus this year (Acts 1:8)?
The Holy Spirit has not been given us to downplay on our minds. He has been given us to energise our minds (2 Timothy 1:7). With the Holy Spirit, you can now have sanctified dreams. Your thought is purified, and your mind is aligned with God’s mind. If those folks without the Holy Spirit can achieve great feat by their imagination, you cannot afford to do less with the Holy Spirit (Genesis 11:6). Journey with God in your imagination this year. You will succeed!
