It was a beautiful Saturday morning. I had gone to the market to pick some items. The girls had gone to the salon. It was only Daniel and his mum at home. As soon as I returned home, my wife sighed; “Thank God your Dad is back, I can now have time to do my chores.” Immediately, I picked up Daniel and engaged him for a while. He became so excited and playful that the mum looked at us and said; “Well done, father and son.” Her statement reminded me of the fatherhood of God.

Friend, the highest title that God bears is the title of the Father, while the highest title you can bear as a born-again person is the title of a son (John 1:12). I wish people would emphasise their sonship much more than their title. Thank God for pastor, apostle, teacher, prophet, evangelist, etc. All these titles only work to the extent of your understanding of your sonship (Ephesians 4:11-13).

God is building a kingdom. It is a father-and-son kingdom. Until this revelation hits you, you would be operating less than God plans for you. Did you notice that the Pharisees and Saducees never argued with Jesus being a prophet, a teacher, and the likes? Most of them even called Him those. But the moment He called God His Father, they wanted to stone Him (John 5:17-20). They could not handle the truth of His sonship with the Father. They knew He was equal with God by that.

What about you? Would you bask in your sonship, or do you keep arguing about titles and even adding titles upon titles? See, the devil does not respect your title. He only respects your mantle (Acts 19:11-17). He respects the authority of your sonship and your audacity in the same (John 1:12). Truly, sonship is the key to kingdom manifestation (Isaiah 8:18, 9:6).

There is the love of the father, and there is also the training of the father. Every genuine father begins fatherhood from the display of love. Only then would every other fatherhood role yield results (Matthew 3:17, John 3:35, 5:20). A true father cares, coaches, corrects, and commissions. It is the joy of every father to release the son into manifestation, but it must be a son who has received care, coaching, and correction (Romans 8:19).

The kingdom pattern of father-and-son relationship is also the plan of God for every biological family and church family. Until these divine institutions function this way, the kingdom would not find full expression (Malachi 4:6). If you belong to a local church, be there as a son or daughter, and accept the pastor as a father. Receive care, coaching, and correction as you get commissioned for your ultimate manifestation (Psalms 127:3-5, 144:11-15). I hope this sinks.
