A young man bought a beautiful flower and kept moving it from pot to pot, chasing “better soil.” The plant never grew. When he finally left it in one pot, watered it daily, and gave it sunlight, it bloomed. God grows us the same way — not by constant relocation, but by staying and thriving where He plants us.
Friend, stay where God has planted you. Success does not come from abroad. It comes from above. Your location won’t make you — your connection to God will. Where God assigns you, your provision will find you too. Ravens fed Elijah in the wilderness, not in a palace (1 Kings 17:1-6). Your “consignment” will meet you at your place of assignment.
Sometimes, famine can be a blessing in disguise. Famine forces us to listen better and obey faster. God told Isaac to stay and plant in Gerar during a famine, and he harvested a hundredfold (Genesis 26:12). He stayed where God wanted him, obeyed, and became the envy of his generation. Accuracy beats speed when God is involved (Genesis 26:1-2).
Famine also taught Isaac diligence (Proverbs 12:24). He did not fold his hands because the land was dry. He planted anyway. God’s blessing does not cancel hard work — it makes your work profitable. Just because it’s not working yet does not mean God is not in it (Micah 7:8). Keep your hands on the plough.
Rise up and pour in labour where God has planted you — in your business, ministry, marriage, career (John 9:4). Don’t let pressure or “japa” mindset push you out of your assignment. Work smart, work steady, work where God planted you. Skilful hands always rise to the top (Proverbs 22:29).
Consistency will always break the ground, no matter how hard it is. If you don’t quit, God won’t quit on you either (Acts 26:22). There is a blessing in famine. There is an advantage in adversity. There is prosperity even in austerity. As you trust God and keep labouring, your season is changing (Job 14:14). Amen.
