A man of God shared how he solved a challenging mathematical equation for his doctoral program after being inspired by the biblical story of Moses parting the Red Sea. He applied a similar principle of separation and recombination to find the solution, demonstrating the relevance of the Bible to everyday life.
Friend, the Bible is relevant to your everyday life (Psalm 1:1-3). The word of God is the manual for life and living. Until you start to see the Bible this way, you will see studying it as a burden rather than a blessing. What if you’re told that the solution to your life’s problems is hidden in a book (Isaiah 34:16)? Would you read it or ignore it?
The Bible is the book of solution to the problems of man (Isaiah 8:19-20). God carefully selected the contents of the Bible in such a way that everything that has to do with life’s situations, problems, challenges, and needs have been well captured in the passages of the Bible (Romans 15:4). There is nothing you are doing now or facing in life that has not been addressed in the Bible.
For students, you have more understanding than your teachers as you meditate on the word (Psalm 119:99). For business people, God is the one who teaches you to profit (Isaiah 48:17). For your career, you would find valuable lessons from the lives of Joseph, Daniel, Deborah, etc. If you are a pastor, the books of first and second Timothy are your ministerial handbook. Wisdom nuggets for marriage and family success are scattered all over the Bible.
The Bible is both food and medicine (Proverb 4:20-23). It is food for healthy growth, development, and staying alive. It is medicine for solutions to all of man’s sicknesses; spiritual, mental, body, financial, marital, etc. When you are hungry, you eat the word, and when you are sick, you take in the word. Failure to engage scriptures is the reason for human frustrations (Luke 4:4).
The word of God is the wisdom of God to guide your life’s affairs on the earth (2 Timothy 3:15). There is something written about you in the Bible. Like Jesus, you need to search the volume of the books of the Bible to find your paths and pathways in life (Luke 4:17-21, Hebrews 10:7). Indeed, God’s word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. The Bible is the manual for life and living. You will not be stranded.
