Recently, I met with the leaders of my former campus fellowship. As we got on handling projects and pushing boundaries, I was reminded that it was in my tenure as the president that the fellowship property was bought. Then, I came to the conclusion that God used that campus fellowship land project to pace me for our church building project.
Friend, let God pace you for destiny. You need to develop your faith muscles (2 Corinthians 10:15). Your tomorrow is hidden in your today. If you waste today’s opportunities, you will miss tomorrow’s possibilities. What are you doing today that is preparing you for tomorrow? David’s encounter with the lion and the bear was what prepared him for the encounter with Goliath (1 Samuel 17:32-37).
It was 17 years ago that we got our campus fellowship property. Our church property was bought 17 years after. Perhaps, God had Destiny Impact Church and our current project in mind when he allowed me, a year two student, to be faced with the task of moving the fellowship to her permanent site (1 Corinthians 2:9). Thank God I did not waste that season.
God often paces us so we can leap over walls (Psalms 18:29). Don’t get into your future unprepared. If you must overcome future oppositions, you need to be getting ready for them today. Most times, what will get you ready for destiny will look like a problem. Your attitude towards it matters. Rather than reacting, God wants you to respond (Romans 8:28). Are you responding to divine pacing?
You need a pacer in your life. That year, I was told by a dear father in the faith that no matter what I did in the fellowship, if I did not move the fellowship to her own property, I would have failed God. Like Mordecai charged Esther, that particular charge was what I needed to step into divine destiny (Esther 4:13-14). Who is pacing you for destiny? Who is stretching your faith and opening possibilities for your future?
You need people who stretch your faith, not those who limit it (2 Timothy 1:5-7). You need fathers through whom you can see farther and further. Until your faith is stretched, your future will be limited. Faith is what defines the limit of your destiny and future (Mark 9:23). Stop running away from what God has designed to propel and preserve your future. Let God pace you.
