My first experience with Holy Spirit baptism, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, was from my mum. We were asleep that night when I started hearing her speak in a strange language. I thought something had gone wrong with her. She later motioned to me that all was well. I later understood “that strange language” to be one of the greatest blessings of the believer.
Friend, learn to pray in the Spirit. You need to tap into the unlimited power in praying in other tongues. It is what brings about unusual manifestations in the life of the believer. Just as it was in the days of the Apostles, people would not stop mocking the practice of speaking in tongues, but you must never let others mock what is making you (Acts 2:13).
Perhaps, like the people in the days of the Apostles, you are also asking, “What meaneth this (Acts 2:12)?” The people around you may make you feel somehow when you exercise yourself in praying in the Holy Spirit. Well, it is the gift of God given to you when you got baptised in the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4). It is the believer’s prayer language.
Praying in the Spirit is the gateway to all spiritual realities (1 Corinthians 14:2). It opens doors of access into the things of the Spirit. When you don’t pray in the Spirit, you would be shut out, as it were, from the things of the Spirit made available for your profiting (1 Corinthians 12:7). Praying in tongues is one way to confuse the devil as he does not understand that language (1 Corinthians 14:2).
When you don’t know what to do, pray in the Spirit. Direction will come to you (1 Corinthians 2:10). When you feel down; spiritually, emotionally, or physically, learn to build up yourself on your most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20). You can run sickness out of your body by tapping into the omnipotence of God via praying in the Spirit (Romans 8:11).
Notice what Apostle Paul said that “…I pray in tongues more than you all…”(1 Corinthians 14:18). This must have been one of his secrets. You can also tap into this blessedness as you spend time daily and consistently praying in the Spirit. Don’t wait to be led. You have been blessed with the ability (1 Corinthians 14:15). This is how to be in the will of God (Romans 8:27-28). This is how to get kingdom results. Learn to pray in the Spirit always. Amen.
