KLL IT!

My son is quick to spot cockroaches in the house. You’d hear him say, “Daddy, see cocktoach. Daddy, kill it.” We had to correct him that not all insects are cochroaches. Later on, he’d attempt to kill them by himself. I wonder where he got the idea that cockroaches must be killed at all cost.

Friend, there are things you must kill at all cost for you to truly live and fulfil destiny (Luke 19:27). If you don’t kill them, they would end up killing or hindering you. Have you identified what you must kill inorder to truly live? Have you caught the little foxes that spoil the vine (SoS 2:15)? If it can destroy you, it is no longer little.

David instructed Solomon to eliminate certain personalities if he’d enjoy his throne (1 Kings 2:5-6). David knew that those personalities didn’t allow him to enjoy his throne so he instructed his son to kill them. Fathers help us to identify spirits and attitudes that would hinder us from enjoying divine greatness (Proverbs 31:1-9). We need to listen to them.

Solomon executed those personalities and he enjoyed his throne. He didn’t fight any battle all through his reign. The result was that God gave him rest round about resulting into wealth and fame (1 Kings 5:4). What if he allowed them to grow and continue with him?

What are you allowing to grow and continue with you (Matthew 13:25)? You need to watch what is growing with you that should not grow with you. Actually, our growth is determined by what we disallow from growing with us, not just what we grow into. There are things to grow into, and there are things to outgrow (1 Corinthians 13:11).

Have you outgrown lust? Do you still permit pride in your life while you call it self-confidence or new creation reality (James 4:1-7)? Have you dissociated yourself from the works of the flesh? Or do you explain it away by calling it your weakness (Hebrews 6:1, 9:14)? The best time to kill a negative spirit or attitude is when it is still small. Stop empowering what would later kill you.
