Recently, I sighted a mini book in my library; it was written about two decades ago by one of my highly respected men of God. The book is titled; “Don’t Mind Them”. I had read it long before now but that day, I was stirred up by the title of that book. It reminded me of the life of focus and commitment I have been living for years.

Friend, keep your focus. Don’t mind your mockers. Never allow others to mock what God is using to make you. Don’t mind those who discourage you; those who say to you that it cannot be done (1 Timothy 4:12). Always remind yourself that you are possible and that God’s assignment for your life is possible.

As a Nehemiah, don’t mind the “Sanballats and Tobiahs”. Their aim is to distract you and weaken your hands. You are doing a great work. The work must be great in your estimation no matter how people see it (Nehemiah 4:3). You are doing a great work, don’t come down (Nehemiah 6:3).

As a young David, don’t mind “your elder brothers”; those who don’t believe in the capacity of greatness that you carry (1 Samuel 17:28-30). Beware of “the older prophet syndrome”; their only job is to distract emerging leaders. Don’t fall for them (1 Kings 13:7-30).

As a Hannah, don’t mind “the Peninnahs” of your life. Endure your process with God (1 Samuel 1:6-7). The barren woman today would soon become a joyful mother of children (Psalms 113:9). Don’t mind the threats from Jezebel; the devil can only make mouth but he’s not more than a toothless dog (Hebrews 2:14-15, 1 Peter 5:8-9). Refuse to be intimidated!

Focus on God and His unique destiny for you. Don’t mind them. Mind God. Mind the kingdom. Mind your destiny. Stay focused on God’s purpose for your life. Do your own business (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Don’t allow those who don’t know your instructions to dictate your steps (John 2:5). Your future is bright. You will get there! Amen!
