We have always taught our children the power of a simple courtesy. We taught them to say “thank you” when someone gives them anything. We always thank them whenever they do stuff for us. They were also taught the five magic words in school; please, excuse me, sorry, thank you, and pardon me. I learned that such simple acts of courtesy attract answers.

Friend, a little courtesy, does not just work magic; it works miracles. You need to leverage it for the answers you desire. A simple courtesy can unlock your long-awaited miracle if you make it a part of your life. Christianity is not an excuse for stupidity or reckless living. When you are operating in divine wisdom, you would walk in discretion; you would be courteous (Proverbs 3:21-22).

A simple act of kindness or hospitality may be what you need to attract the answers you have been looking for (Hebrews 13:2). Prayer without courtesy is just effort in futility. I remember a lady who got a husband by the way she served an innocent young man a cup of water (Genesis 24:15-28).

Can you imagine an old man (Abraham) running around to entertain “strangers”? They were not actually strangers. They were messangers of answer (Genesis 18:1-10). The secret to David’s recovery also came through a simple courtesy; he took care of the fainting Egyptian (1 Samuel 30:11-19). They may look like those in need, but they are those you need.

Look at how the widow in 2 Kings 4 received Elisha, and you would appreciate how a simple courtesy can unlock miracles. She saw beyond a needy prophet; she saw a needed prophet, and she provoked the miraculous (2 Kings 4:9-17).

You are not being courteous because of what you want to get. You want to make it a part of you. Learn to say thank you, apologise when you are wrong, make requests politely, go out of your way to help people, etc. If you make this your everyday practice, you would not only win with people, you would also attract the answers you desire (2 Peter 1:5-8). Amen.
