I recently spoke with a young businessman who was thriving in his field, yet felt inadequate because he wasn’t in ministry like me. He confessed to envying my role. I encouraged him to focus on his business, emphasizing that we’ll all contribute to God’s plan in different ways – not everyone needs to be a preacher, but everyone can make an impact by following God’s guidance in their own sphere.
Friend, God wants you to have a culture of enterprise (Proverbs 31:14-23). You cannot get out of life more than what you put into it. A lot of times, we blame God for what we are, directly or indirectly, responsible for. You should always remind yourself that God is always faithful (2 Timothy 2:12-13).
If anything goes wrong in or around your life, God is not to blame (1 Corinthians 10:13). Once you realise this, you would ask God questions that will provide clarity and direction rather than accusing God for being unfaithful. Most times, the same grace that God gives all of us as Christians will not result in the same outcome or result (1 Corinthians 15:8-10).
Don’t frustrate the grace of God. The way to perptuate and multiply divine blessings is to have a culture of enterprise (Genesis 26:12-14). That’s what we noticed with the Partriachs. What started as a covenant promise in Abraham continued as an enterprise that later led to governance in Joseph (Genesis 45:8).
Nobody can enter into governance without being enterprising (Luke 19:17). The faithful stewards in Luke 19 moved from trade to governance. They became lords over cities. Until you are enterprising with your life, career, business, and ministry, your influence on cities and nations would be limited (Isaiah 60:15).
Think enterprise. Let your five loaves of bread and fish be able to feed thousands (John 6:1-13). Let the little oil in your jar be able to sustain generations. Let that church you pastor be able to influence people beyond your territory. If God started with nothing but the word, you have more than enough to change your world (Hebrews 11:3). Think enterprise. Amen.
