As I prepared God’s people in prayers and teachings for the new year, one secret that I kept emphasizing to them was this; “Whatever you planned to do in the new year, start this year. Don’t wait until the new year to improve on your prayer, work on your marriage, or live a disciplined life. Do it now.” I consider this as a timely instruction for everyone. Do it now.

Friend, do it now. Truly, success is a habit. It is about what you are doing now, not what you are planning to do (Philippians 3:12-14). The secret of your success is hidden in your daily routine. Stop procrastinating or postponing your destiny. What you want to do in the coming year, start doing it now. Enter the new year as a doer, not as a dreamer (Acts 1:1). Move from dreaming to doing.

Some people have this superstitious idea of a new year. According to them, once they step into a new year, everything will automatically become new. They are greatly mistaken! There is no new year without a new you (Romans 12:2). There is no new year without new habits and practices. If you continue the same practices you have this year by next year, you will achieve the same or less results (2 Peter 3:18).

Do it now. Success is for actors (Acts 26:19, 22). Some people are always planning. They are planning to finish the Bible in a year, start a business, ministry, etc. They are forever planning. Unfortunately, life does not reward you for your intentions or plans. It rewards you for your actions and results. When you fail to act, you have forfeited your chance of success (Ecclesiastes 9:11-12).

What are you planning to do next year? Do it now. Jack up your prayer life now. Start saving now. Start loving your spouse now. Start going on evangelism now. Start working on your business now. Do it now. When you do it now, you have already created the right atmosphere and impetus for the new year. Do it now. God is a God of now. Faith is now (Hebrews 11:1). Help is now. Do it now.

Procrastination is a thief of destiny. Perhaps your procrastination has brought you to where you are now. You need to break free from it (Proverbs 6:9-11, 22:13). The greatest need of someone right now is an accountability relationship. Initiate one this year. Don’t try to succeed alone, or else, you fail alone (Judges 18:28). Look for quality friends. Get into a growth company. Get a mentor. Move with those who are movers and shakers, and you will fulfil your destiny. Does this help you?
