My spiritual father shared a story of how someone invited him for a program. After checking the invite, he told the young man, “Would you prefer a relationship access with me or that I should come speak for you?” The young man opted for a speaking engagement, not a relationship. My spiritual father declined the invite.

Friend, what do you want from God; what He gives or who He is? A visitation or a relationship? The purpose of divine visitation is to establish a relationship with us. God’s blessing is not an end in itself but a means to an end. After Peter got his business breakthrough, he abandoned everything to follow Jesus (Luke 5:6-11).

You must relate wisely with God if you would go far in life and destiny. You must decide not to be satisfied with His giving hand, but His face. His presence, not presents. His presence is what brings change and transformation (2 Corinthians 3:18, 4:6). Once your priority shifts from the blessing to the Blesser, God would begin to take you seriously.

God does not build His kingdom around seekers of blessings but custodians of His presence. He made His ways known unto Moses, but His acts to the children of Israel (Psalms 103:7). Jesus multiplied loaves of bread and fish with the multitude, but He shared eternal life with His disciples. The difference was their choices (John 6:67-69).

God wants to move you from a taste of His blessing to a state of His blessing (Psalms 34:8). Abraham only gave gifts to the children of the concubine, but he gave ALL that he had to Isaac, his son (Genesis 25:5-6). You must move from being an opportunist to a carrier of kingdom inheritance.

Those who are seekers of what God gives and not who He is may seem to be making progress, but it’s only for a short time. You must not allow what others are flaunting to discourage you in your walk with the Lord. When you are a follower of God, you become a possessor of Heaven and Earth; you are in command (Genesis 14:19, 18:17-19).
