A man of God said something striking that God told him; “If you are putting your eyes on the people to help you, don’t pretend that you are waiting on me. Nobody owes you anything.” This resonated with my mentality about life, and especially the precious ministry that God has committed into my hands. I believe this will help you greatly, too.

Friend, beware of entitlement mentality. This is one of the reasons people fail in life. Understand that nobody owes you anything (Matthew 25:24-30). In life, we would need people, but we must not let them replace our taking personal responsibility. We would learn from people, but we must not lean on them.

Entitlement mentality is the killer of greatness. Until you are able to look inward and recognize the greatness locked on your inside, you won’t amount to much in life (Philemon 1:6). Many people celebrate greatness in others while looking down on themselves. What some people call humility is shear stupidity powered by ignorance.

Don’t face life looking for who to give you. Look for what to give (Acts 20:35). People give, not because of what they have, but because of who they are. Your understanding of who God has made you in life will naturally provoke generosity. If you know that you are blessed, it won’t be difficult for you to be a blessing. But if you think otherwise, it would reduce you to a beggar in life (Genesis 12:1-3).

Nobody owes you anything in life. Rather, you owe this life your contribution (2 Kings 7:1-11). The truth is, you have something to offer. Stop thinking consumption, start thinking contribution. Stop looking for who to help you, and start looking for who to help. The way to change your reality is to change your mentality (Proverbs 23:7). You cannot be thinking scarcity and mistakenly stumble into abundance.

What you focus on magnifies. Stop focusing on what you lack. Start focusing on what you have (Matthew 25:29). Your five loaves of bread and two fishes can feed thousands if you can recognise its worth (John 6:1-13). Those who do great things are not necessarily those with huge resources. They are those with the right mindset and a possibility mentality. You will succeed!
