One of my friends was teaching one day when he said these words; “Can you for once pray without mentioning the devil at all in your prayers? Why do you always give more attention to the devil than to God?” Those words made an impact on my life and perspective towards prayer. I believe this will help you, too.
Friend, you need to be God-conscious. The truth is that your consciousness will always determine your experience (Psalms 27:13). If you are conscious of God, you will experience God. If you are conscious of the devil, you will experience the devil. If you are conscious of the blessing, it will flow and manifest in your life, and if you are conscious of the curse, you won’t escape it (Galatians 3:13-14).
The word of God is meant to give us a consciousness. It is meant to give us the consciousness of God and the kingdom (Romans 12:1-3). You need to load yourself so much with God’s word that you literally breathe, live, and experience the scriptures. You are what you eat. You need to move from just reading the Bible to eating the Bible (Jeremiah 15:16).
Just as faith comes by hearing, fear also comes by hearing (Romans 10:17). The amazing thing is that your subconscious mind does not usually discern your intentions. It simply feeds on what it hears. If you keep binding the devil every time you pray, you are feeding your subconscious with the devil without knowing. Rather than only binding demons, you need to learn to relase your angels; they know what to do (Hebrews 1:14).
You cannot get results until you pray right by aligning with scriptures (James 4:3). Prayer was not first designed to deal with the devil. It was designed to fellowship with God (Genesis 3:8). Do more of fellowshipping with God as you pray. Every prayer direction must flow from fellowship with God, including binding the devil.
Your confession is what defines your consciousness. If you pray right but confess wrong, your life won’t still make progress (2 Corinthians 4:13). Life responds more to what you say than what you pray. Your thinking must also align with your speaking (Acts 12:1-11). Don’t give the devil too much attention. Let God get your attention, and you will experience heaven on earth. Amen
