My spiritual father shared a story about acquiring a church property. His associate pastors seemed to have finalized the deal, but he felt a prompting to pray again and double-check. It turned out that the land was in a restricted zone, slated for future government development. They would’ve lost 80% of the land if they’d proceeded. One extra prayer saved them from significant loss.

Friend, you need to pray again (Matthew 26:42-44). In making critical decisions, you cannot rush prayer. In decision-making, haste is an enemy of accuracy. If you feel pressured to make a decision, it can be a signal that something isn’t right somewhere. Let the Holy Spirit help you to be thorough in prayer.

Most times, you don’t know everything about your life at the moment. Praying again gives allowance to the Holy Spirit to do a thorough search (Romans 8:27). When you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit searches the mind of God for you on the matter (1 Corinthians 2:10). You cannot afford to be hasty.

Some marital choices have been delivered from errors simply because the persons involved were patient enough to pray again (Isaiah 28:16). Unfortunately, praying again is one statement singles don’t like to hear when they are to make marital decisions. Just a little patience in prayer can save you from much pain (Ecclesiastes 7:16-17).

Like Isaac, when the hands are like the hands of Esau, but the voice is the voice of Jacob, don’t go ahead (Genesis 27:22-24). If your spirit is not settled on a matter, don’t go ahead. Pray again. Let the Holy Spirit help you to unravel the mysteries around that decision before you go ahead (Deuteronomy 29:29).

Don’t just pray once about critical decisions of your life (2 Corinthians 12:8). The first time you pray about a matter, you will mostly hear the voice of your flesh, mind, tradition, environment, or devil. It is as you continue in prayer that the Holy Spirit helps to separate the chaff from the wheat (Matthew 3:12). May you receive the patience to pray again!
