A young student in college got bothered as He watched his friends call home and get help right away when they’re in need. He had no one to call. No family to run to. It broke him. Until he heard a soft whisper: “Son, call home. I’m here to help you.” He knew it was God. That moment changed everything for him.
Friend, you need to call home. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you.” A lot of people are fighting battles alone, not realizing help is one prayer away. When you gave your life to Christ, you were adopted into God’s family. He is now your Father (Romans 8:15). Don’t ignore that privilege.
The prodigal son understood this. He left a place of abundance and ended up in lack. Luke 15:17 says he “came to himself” and decided to return. He left danger for safety and confusion for direction. When he got home, his father ran to him, embraced him, and celebrated him (Luke 15:22-24).
No matter how far you think you’ve gone, you can still call home. God is waiting to receive you with open arms (Luke 15:20). Don’t let pride rob you of your inheritance. Don’t let guilt steal your forgiveness. And don’t believe the lie that you can fix yourself alone. God is the Potter. He knows how to fix your life (Jeremiah 18:1-6).
The greatest privilege any human can have is to have access to God, the Monarch of the universe. Prayer is often underrated. Matthew 6:9 teaches us to say, “Our Father.” If you had the president’s number, you’d use it. Our access to God is greaer (Psalm 3:2-4). So why do we struggle in silence?
God didn’t save you to walk alone. He also placed you in a church family. That’s why you have a pastor and spiritual siblings (Jeremiah 3:15). So why wander? Why eat with swine when there’s a table for you (Psalm 68:6)? Maximize your access to God and your place in church. You were never meant to be stranded. Call home.
