“God gave me a message, to deliver people and the horse to ride. But I killed the horse.” These were the last words of a twenty nine year old Minister who died due to stress from over work. He wanted to be Elshaddai.

Friend, God wants you to have a healthy body (3 John 1:2). It is possible to live and die healthy and strong, and it is also possible to battle with sickness all through your entire life (Psalms 105:37). You spirit can be healthy while your body is sick and weak if you don’t know how to leverage the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to bring health and strength to your body.

You can choose to live and die like Moses or you do so like Elisha (Deuteronomy 34:7, 2 Kings 13:14). They were both anointed and called by God; one lived in health up to 120 years or so, and even walked to his own grave, the other died of sickness (Deuteronomy 32:48-50, 34:5, 2 Kings 13:14). We must beware of the seduction of the anointing.

Every anointed man needs a wise person around him. The wisdom of the wise helps to balance the passion of the anointed. Moses had a Jethro but Elisha had no one to guide and balance him up (Exodus 18:14-24). You need to realize that on this earth, you don’t have to do all that the “anointing” is moving you to do. You need to heed the voice of wisdom (Proverbs 4:7).

You cannot be going on 7 days dry fast, back to back, and expect to be fine, health wise. The truth is, a lot of people are not led by the Holy Spirit to do what they “feel led” to do, in terms of “reckless” spiritual activities, they are often led by their ego or ignorance. The Holy Spirit understands balance (Isaiah 11:1-2).

On this side of eternity, you cannot always do what your spirit is capable of doing. Your body has to be put into consideration. For example, your spirit can pray for 24 hours non stop, but can your body handle it? Knowing how to balance what my spirit can do and what my body can handle is one of the proofs of maturity (Philippians 4:13, Hebrews 10:5).
