As children those days, I and my friends would hunt for the new year’s theme from churches. We would compete with ourselves to know how many themes from different churches that we can quote off hand. We would bask in the euphoria of how scintillating most of the themes were. The problem was that we were not in the flow of the moment. We were just theme trackers.
Happy New Year Friend! This year is a blessed one indeed for you! What theme are you running with? Don’t only go about tracking themes and claiming what God did not speak to you. That He spoke it to others does not mean He is speaking the same to you. It is better to run with one theme as revealed to you by God than to be running with different themes from different Churches, denominations, people etc.
“…Whatever He says to you, do it” (John 2:5). You need to know what God says to you. If you belong to a Church denomination, I would advise you to track the theme for that denomination. God gave that theme with you in mind if you are a covenant member of that Church denomination. No matter how high sounding and well branded some Church denominations’ themes are, don’t be carried away; stick to what God says to you.
It is better to run with one theme than to be grappling with several themes and lose out in the process (Philippians 3:12-14). A lot of people have accused God of not fulfilling His word to them when God is asking if He ever told them. God is only committed to what He says to you (Numbers 23:19). The theme you are running with must be a personal revelational to you even if it was given to a congregation of which you are a part.
“In the beginning was the Word…” (John 1:1).” Let God’s word begin this year with you. If you have God’s word, you are made! It is the word of God that would create your world (Hebrews 11:3). Your realities in this new year must not be circumstances dependent, it must be revelation dependent. It is revelation that brings elevation (Galatians 2:2).
There is no price that is too much to pay for a divine revelation (Matthew 13:44-46). One word from God will change your life forever. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the moment, get God’s word. Don’t be cumbered with so many things and miss out of what God is saying to you (Luke 10:38-42). Above all, run with the word. Superimpose it on the realities of the year. And it shall be well with you.
