My daughter asked me a very important question the other day. She asked; “Daddy, if I dreamt that something good happened. Will it happen? What should I do?” Well, her simple but powerful question led me into a short exposition with her on dreams and visions. I emphasized that visions require prayers, among other things, to see them become a reality.
Friend, visions require prayers if they would see the light of the day. One of the reasons good visions and dreams do not come to pass is the lack of prayers concerning them. When most people have bad dreams, they declare days of Fasting and Prayers, and even share such with their pastor for prayers and all that. But we just gloat over good dreams and visions, and assume they would come to pass.
“…That you might by them war a good warfare” (1 Timothy 1:18). If we pray with the same fervency about our good dreams as we do our bad dreams, our lives would be a lot better. Most times, we assume that since God has given us the vision, it would automatically come to pass. We fail to realize that every divine vision is up for satanic contention. Vision fulfilled is Satan defeated.
“I will stand upon my watch…” (Habakkuk 2:1). The vision you received in the place of prayers would not be fulfilled on the platform of pleasure. Why do you think you would complete in the flesh what you began in the Spirit (Galatians 3:3)? It is good to be prayerful as you enter a new year, but you must maintain this fervency all through the year (Romans 12:11).
“…Jeremiah, what do you see…” (Jeremiah 1:11)? What vision do you have for year 2022 and for your life generally? How are you handling it? Do you believe it enough to pray about it? The vision you don’t take time to pray about you do not truly believe in (Hebrews 11:6). Before you start connecting men for your vision, you need to connect Heaven; let Heaven touch it before the earth touches it (John 20:17).
Prayer births faith in your heart to pursue the vision (Hebrews 10:35-39). Prayer shields your vision from satanic attacks. Prayer secures the commitment of Heaven. Prayer mobilizes the support of men. With prayer, dimensions of the vision are understood and possibilities are released. Will you dare to pray?
