I noticed the joy and fulfilment in the bride as she walked down the aisle. I had thought it’s just the expected joy and excitement that should normally accompany such an occasion. But has she opened her mouth to share her testimony, she revealed she’s the first person to ever get properly married in her family and lineage. She stopped the curse and started the blessing.
Friend, God wants you to stop the curse and start the blessing (Galatians 3:13-14). Every curse began with someone, and every blessing also began with someone. You need to choose where you belong. The curse on humanity began with Adam, but the blessing on the new creation began with Christ (Romans 5:14-21). Live your life in such a way that nothing bad would start with you, and something good would begin with you.
Whereas there is the reality of generational curses. But generational blessing is more real (Isaiah 51:1-2). It does not matter what is flowing in and from your ancestry. You can decide to turn it around. Every child of God is a blessing carrier. Every child of God is a joint and a connector. You are meant to connect your lineage and generation to the flow of the blessing (Genesis 12:1-3).
The curse would continue to find expression until someone put his feet on the ground to stop it (1 Chronicles 4:9-10). What you don’t want, you don’t watch. What you don’t confront, you cannot conquer. What you don’t address, you have given permission to remain. You are supposed to use your position in Christ to change your condition on the earth (Isaiah 54:17).
Abraham stopped the curse and started the blessing. Today, in and through Abraham, all the families of the earth would be blessed (Genesis 12:1-3). What about you? What do you want to stop in your family and lineage? What do you want to stop in your environment and society? What do you want to start? Make up your mind to connect your lineage and generation to the blessing (Psalm 112:1-2).
God’s dealings are not meant to end with you (Deuteronomy 29:29). The battles you win today become a platform of ease and success for your offspring (Nehemiah 4:14). Rather than accepting the status quo or conceding defeat, why not rise to the occasion and enforce your victory in Christ? You need to stop the curse and start the blessing.
