A man raised a lion cub as a pet, but as it grew, he forgot its wild nature. One day, he returned home to find his children torn apart by the very creature he had fed. What are you feeding that might ultimately consume you? Stop feeding the wrong things. Start feeding the right things.
Friend, what are you feeding? It is what you feed that grows (1 Peter 2:2). If you feed the right things, they would grow in your life, but if you feed the wrong things, you would endanger your life and destiny. Stop feeding what would later kill you (Romans 8:6). What you consider harmless today may spell your doom tomorrow.
Your life is a seed; feed it. The investment of God in your life is a seed; feed it (Matthew 25:24-30). The work of the flesh and Satan in your life is a seed; stop feeding it. Don’t feed what you don’t want to see in your future. Don’t feed your lust by watching every reel on social media (Galatians 6:7-8). Stop feeding your pride by going where your ego is always massaged.
Stop feeding your fear. Start feeding your faith (2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 10:17). Faith is a seed that needs to be constantly fed with God’s word, prayers, and the right atmosphere. Fear is also a seed that many people are feeding unconsciously. Stop listening to people who increase your awareness of the devil and his wickedness (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Like Jesus told His disciples, you don’t increase your faith by mere wishes or prayers. You grow it by action (Luke 17:5-6). What steps are you taking today that is growing your faith? The faith you need to confront your Goliath is already in the seed of faith you are using to face smaller challenges today (1 Samuel 17:34-37).
You need to feed what will feed you, not what will kill you. Your calling is a seed; feed it (2 Peter 1:10). If you do nothing about God’s call on your life, it would only remain at the seed level. You have got to feed it so that it can come alive (Colossians 4:17). Feed it with constant prayers, diligent study, intentional training, and commitment to a life of service.
