A church member had a dream where she saw a coffin. Assuming it signalled her death, she rushed to share it with her pastor. The pastor just asked a simple question, ‘Did you see who’s in the coffin? How did you know it’s you and not your enemy?’ Then it dawned on her that she had allowed the devil to interpret her dream.

Friend, don’t let the devil interpret your dreams for you (Job 33:23). Always remember that if the devil cannot be the supplier of your information, he wants to be the interpreter of it. What you make of a dream is more important than the dream itself. What you do with a dream is what determines the outcome of that dream in your life (Isaiah 53:1).

Whereas our dream life is one of the platforms for divine communications (Job 33:14-18). You need to realise that the devil also wants to intrude into that realm in order to control your life and outcomes. The word of God is more powerful than your dream. Be careful of exalting your dream or any supernatural experience above the word of God (Psalm 119:89, 138:2).

Some people have never believed the word of God concerning them, but they believe their dreams (Luke 1:38). Some even boast that their dreams always come to pass. Once the devil sees that you have exalted your dream life above the word of God, he has already got a handle on your life. He just needs to manipulate your dreams to manipulate your life (Isaiah 8:19-20).

Your spiritual life must be stronger than your dream life (Luke 4:1-14). If you don’t study God’s word and fellowship with God in prayer, you would always be at the mercy of your dreams. Dreams are not final. They are waiting for you to do something. The devil you can see is a weak and defeated devil. You need to rise in your authority in Christ (1 John 4:4, 5:4).

God reveals to redeem. Rather than being terrified by your negative dream, reject it by the word of God (Psalm 118:17). Stop it in prayer by enforcing your victory in Christ. Don’t say it to anyone except those who can agree with you to cancel it (Isaiah 54:17). Above all, yield your spirit and mind to God so He can work with it to reveal His plans for your life. Reject negative dreams.
