A pastor was praying over his church members one day. As he got praying for one particular brother, God spoke to him; “You see this person, even if I partner with him, he would still fail.” Disturbed by that word, he enquired from God about him. This was when he realised the brother had a lot of disorderiliness in his life.
Friend, blessings are provoked. One way to provoke divine blessings is to put your life in order (Joshua 3:5). God is everywhere, and with every born-again person, but He does not manifest everywhere and in every life. The degree of His manifestations also vary from persons to persons and places to places (John 14:21).
We can all receive prophetic words in church, but how much of such words will find practical fulfilment in our lives does not depend on God or the pastor. It depends on you (Matthew 13:23). The word of God does not fail, but it can fail in the life of those who don’t put the right order in place (Isaiah 55:11).
There are people who beg God to show up for them. But there are people God is looking to show Himself strong on their behalf (2 Chronicles 16:9). It is better to prepare for God in your life than to just be praying for His visitations. You need to prepare a highway for God so that His glory can be seen in your life (Isaiah 40:3).
What are those mountains that need to be levelled, valleys to be exalted, crooked places to be straightened, and rough places to smoothened in your life (Isaiah 40:4)? While you are praying for God’s glory, allow Him to deal with your attitude and character. It is your response to His dealings that determines the manifestation of His glory (Isaiah 40:5).
Live your life in such a way that it would be impossible for God to ignore you (Acts 10:1-4). Sometimes, when I see the commitment that some people give to God and their lives, I just conclude that God would be unjust not to bless such people (Hebrews 6:10). Rather than whipping up emotions before God and life, why not provoke God’s blessings and visitations?
