Someone asked me the other day, “Sir, why do my good dreams often fade away while bad ones seem to come true?” I asked him to reflect on how he responds to good dreams. He said he wakes up joyful, thanking God. I advised, “Don’t just celebrate good dreams – pray them into reality.” The same principle applies to prophecies.
Friend, you need to pray with prophecies (1 Timothy 1:18). Prophecies don’t just fulfil themselves. They are meant to be prayed into manifestation. Rather than just getting excited about prophecies, you need to take responsibility in prayer in order to see them come to pass. What have you done with all the prophecies hanging over your life (1 Thessalonians 5:20)?
If you are not ready to pray, don’t look for prophecies (1 Chronicles 4:9-10). Some people’s life become worse after prophecies are given concerning them. The reason is that prophecies announce possibilities in the spirit. Whatever is spoken or announced becomes a target of satanic attacks (Mark 4:15).
The devil does not know a thing about you except what you tell him or what he hears about you in prophecy (Matthew 2:1-7). This is why you need to guard your prophecy in prayer. Don’t be careless with your prophecies. Write them down, but pray about them (Luke 2:25-30). Don’t also share them with anyone who would not contribute to the fulfilment.
While Ahab went to start feasting, Elijah immediately went to pray after the prophecy of abundance of rain (1 Kings 18:41-46). There are people who can afford to eat and drink, but you should not when the future is at stake. Be that man or woman who takes responsibility in prayer for the fulfilment of prophecies (Colossians 4:12).
There is a version of you that can handle the fulfilment of your prophecies (2 Corinthians 3:18). That version needs to emerge in prayer. Prayer also arranges the right human and divine forces to align with the fulfilment of prophecies. If you don’t pray with your prophecies, they would look like a lie. But God does not lie (Numbers 23:19).
