A man of God needed to fight for the life of his 6-month-old baby. He was critically sick at the hospital. He prayed for six hours stretch. He did not plan to pray that long, but he kept praying until he got a note of victory. A scripture popped up in his spirit that settled the matter. The baby lived because the father prayed through. You need to learn to pray through.

Friend, there is something like praying through (Philippians 4:6-7). Prayer is not just a religious exercise done to feign busyness. Rather, it is an intentional spiritual activity that is meant to birth a dimension of God’s will and purpose on the earth. Until God’s will is birthed on earth, you have not prayed through (Matthew 6:9-10).

Rather than just praying, pray to get results (Acts 12:1-16). Pray to establish God’s will and counsel in your life. Prayer can sometimes be likened to giving birth. A pregnant woman does not just go to the labour room to mark attendance. She goes to deliver a baby (Isaiah 26:17). Until the baby is delivered, she’s not fulfilled going to the labour room.

We need to labour in prayers to get results (Isaiah 66:8). Like Epaphras, when we labour in prayers, people are established in the faith. The will of God is established on the earth (Colossians 4:12). We are to ask and keep on asking, seek, and keep on seeking, knock, and keep on knocking (Matthew 7:7-8).

You need to pray until you get a note of victory (Psalm 85:8). Sometimes, people argue that they prayed about something, but it did not happen. Most times, they did not pray through. They did not get a note of victory but stopped praying. This is why you cannot really put a time limit on your prayer. We pray until something happens. We pray until the will of God is established (Matthew 26:39).

Praying through requires persistence (Luke 18:1-8). We persist in prayer, not because God is unyielding, but because Satan does not give up easily. It is because forces of hell are contending with our answers, our flesh is coming in the way of the Spirit (Matthew 26:39). We persist so as to generate the spiritual energy needed to shift things in the spirit. Learn to pray through.
