I recently spoke at a conference and told God’s people: ‘Don’t limit yourself by thinking you’re too young. Don’t just be fans of gospel ministers – instead, let their lives and impact propel you toward God’s purpose for your life. You’re not too young for God to use.’ After that conference, I left with deep thoughts about purpose and timing.
Friend, you are not too young for God (1 Timothy 4:12). If you don’t master the subject of divine timing in purpose and destiny, you would be positioning yourself for a life of frustration and wastage. God was intentional about mentioning ages and numbers in scriptures. Jesus’ life and ministry were marked by divine timing (Luke 2:42-52).
If the devil does not consider people too young to be employed and deployed for his own purpose and agenda, why do you think you are too young for God (Acts 16:16)? If the secular spaces are introducing people into critical things in their early age, do you think God would do less? The devil and man are not wiser than God (1 Corinthians 1:25).
You are not too young for God. Nobody understands the concept of catching people young better than God (Acts 16:1-5). It’s only that most young people are not yielding themselves to God. Their handlers are also doing a bad job. They are entertaining those they should be educating and empowering (Ephesians 5:18).
Let’s stop condoning those we should be training (2 Timothy 3:15-16). Young people are flexible and moldable. They may come with their idiosyncrasies, but they have a lot of potential and possibilities in their purpose. They are only waiting for the right person to harness them. They are still hungry for God, if only we can feed them (1 Timothy 4:12-16).
Since destiny is a race, the earlier you start, the better. Stop wasting time (Ephesians 5:16). Know God. Go for clarity. Understand purpose. Submit to training. Make yourself available for God. Remember, it is either God engages you or the devil entangles you (Luke 8:2). You are not too young for God. Amen.
