While growing up those years, we used to have a big brother in our neighbourhood. All his friends had gotten married except him. But his problem was fundamentally financial. Just within a year, God provided him a very good job, he moved from squatting to renting a nice apartment, got a good car, and got married that same year. When I look at that big brother today, he does not look like his past struggles.
Friend, you need financial breakthroughs to have a thriving marriage and destiny (Psalms 112:1-3). Although marital success does not depend solely on finance. But most marital problems and delays are deeply rooted in finances. It may not look like that on the surface. But it is what it is.
Money can change the colour and temperature of a home or family. Therefore, you must not joke with the subject of money when it comes to marital success (Psalms 118:25). Sometimes, when I see the way some young people get excited about marriage without any major plan for their finances in marriage, I know they are greatly mistaken.
Dear young man, do yourself a favour by having a grasp of financial matters before marriage. With your current spiritual and mental capacity, if you just add financial capacity, your marriage will work (2 Peter 1:5-8). Sometimes, lack of finance can make a spiritual giant look like a midget in marriage.
Your financial stability can help a sister to develop confidence and conviction to agree to your proposal (Genesis 24:53, 58). It takes a deeply spiritual and highly consecrated sister to say yes to a brother who does not have a clear-cut financial plan. For well taught Christian sisters, it is not the volume of money that is their concern but the vision and plan for the same. Brothers, don’t make it difficult for sisters to say yes to your proposal. Nobody wants to suffer.
Money in a home and family will help the ambience of such family (Psalms 112:1-10). This idea that your wife is a virtuous woman just because she washes with her hands because you could not buy her a washing machine is not always right. While a virtuous woman will remain committed to a man without money. Money makes the commitment easier. This year, trust God for financial miracles in your marriage and family. It is part of God’s will for you (3 John 1:2). Amen.
