As the backbone of church operations, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to church leadership and staff, managing day-to-day operations, communication, and record-keeping. He/she ensure the smooth functioning of church activities, events, and programs.
Specific duties and responsibities
- Performs General Office Work: keeps records and compile them into periodic or occasional reports
- Prepare and edit weekly bulletins and other documents as requested.
- Keep accurate membership records (names, phone numbers, address, birthdays e.t.c.)
- Manage and update information and activities of the church on the social media
- Ensure that the physical activities of the church are well prepared before the commencement of any of the services
- Manages the Church book shop
- Transcribe messages and make it available in printed form on the bulletin.
- Responsible for writing and distributing letters on behalf of the church at everyone point in time.
- Performs any and every form of logistics work required for the smooth
running of the church.
- Prepare monthly report for the church (attendance, spiritual growth etc) and also gets monthly financial report from the treasurer and submit such monthly.
- Responsible for preparing the church monthly and yearly report for Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or Higher national diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in any organization.
- Relevant Professional affiliations or certifications is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and church management software.
- Time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
