I once heard the story of a woman carrying a heavy load on a road. Someone offered her a lift, but she kept the load on her head even in the car. She insisted it was her load, not realising the driver was willing to carry it for her. This story reminds me of how some Christians relate with God.

Friend, learn to give your load to Jesus. When Jesus saved you, He saved you completely (Hebrews 12:2). There is no aspect of your life that He left for you to take care of. You should not take anything too personally and not give it to Jesus to handle (1 Peter 5:7).

Nothing is too big for Jesus to handle, and nothing is too small for you to bring to Him (Ephesians 3:20). Both your strengths and weaknesses are to be trusted to Jesus. He wants to carry you and all that pertains to you. Truly, Calvary covers it all. Will you let Him help you (John 5:6-8)?

If you are in an elevator, the speed of the elevator becomes your speed (Isaiah 46:4). You rise without climbing. You run without getting tired or weary. That’s what salvation brings. You have joined a divine lift. You are in a carriage of grace. You don’t have to be tired or weary (Isaiah 40:28-31).

When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He truly meant it (John 19:30). Legalism is trying to do what Jesus has already done. It is attempting to add to what Jesus has already finished. Don’t be a legalistic Christian. Don’t try to earn your rights with God (Galatians 3:1-6). Don’t try to do what Jesus finished on the cross of Calvary.

Jesus’ finished work on the cross took care of our peace and mental well-being (Isaiah 53:4-5). Many people are carrying serious loads of cares and burdens unnecessarily. Salvation brings you peace with God, but if you want to enjoy the peace of God, you need to intentionally hand over your worries and cares to Him (Matthew 11:28-30).
