I sat under my spiritual father some years ago. As I listened to him teach, this statement jumped out of my mouth; “Daddy has a followable faith.” This is one of the many blessings I have received from my spiritual father; a followable faith. You also need to know how to follow the faith of your leader.

Friend, you need to know how to follow the faith of your leader (Romans 4:12). I know we are all following Jesus, but we follow Him through the right people. There must be someone in your life who is modelling Christ for you (1 Corinthians 11:1). There must be someone from whom spiritual truths are decoded to you.

When God brings you to church or your man of God, He brings you to follow his faith, not his fashion (Hebrews 13:7). He brings you to follow his principles, not his swags. Many church members today are best described as fans, not followers. They admire their leaders without learning to become. The proof of correct followership is a transformed life, not just a filled note (Acts 4:13).

One of the ways to learn faith is to see it at work in the lives of others (Mark 11:12-24). You need to observe how your man of God applies his faith to achieve results in life. Elisha simply did what he saw Elijah, his man of God, do. What have you seen your man of God do? Are you observing and learning? Are you replicating the same principles and truths in your own life (2 Kings 2:14)?

You can succeed if your tailor or barber is bad. But you cannot succeed if you have the wrong pastor (Jeremiah 3:15). God will often give you a man of God who is the picture of your future. A man whose life shows you how faith works. This is why sitting under a faithless pastor is one of the worst things that can happen to a child of God (Matthew 14:28-30). It will reduce your destiny.

As your pastor is using his faith to do ministry, you should take the same faith to drive your personal life; career, business, marriage, ministry, etc. (2 Corinthians 4:13). As you sit under his teachings, don’t just sit to write. Sit to learn and replicate the same grace in your own life. If you have the same spirit of faith, you will take the same step of faith and achieve the same result of faith (2 Corinthians 12:18).
