Two friends were taking a walk when one of them suddenly shouted; “I shall not die but live.” Surprised, the other friend and people around asked if all was well. He told them all was well. Later, he told the friend he was fighting the thought of death. This person understood how to fight spiritual battles.

Friend, thoughts are things. Thoughts are living things in the realm of the spirit (2 Corinthians 10:5). Thoughts are real. If you don’t learn to deal with thoughts, you won’t make real progress in destiny. When we say that the mind is the battlefield of life, it is not just a cliche. It is true. Most battles are either won or lost in the mind before they happen in the physical (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).

If you cannot take charge of your mind, you won’t be able to take charge of your life. The border of your life is stretched or shrunk in your mind (Proverbs 23:7). Until enlargement takes place in your heart or mind, it won’t take place in your life (Isaiah 54:1-3). Until freedom takes place in your mind, you would not express true freedom in your life.

Don’t be a captive of your mind. Rather, be the captain of your mind (Proverbs 4:23). Decide and control what happens in your mind. Yield your mind to God and His word so you can have constant victory in that zone. Until the truth of God’s word becomes a stronghold in your mind, you would remain a captive of negative thoughts in your mind (John 8:31-32).

Thoughts are living things. They are real. But you need to fight them with a higher reality. It is the reality of God’s word (Psalm 107:2). You don’t fight thoughts with thoughts. You fight thoughts with words. Be careful that you don’t speak out negative thoughts. If you do, you allow them to gain traction in your life (Job 1:5, 3:25). Assassinate negative thoughts with God’s word.

If you can take charge of what’s going on in your mind daily, you won’t have to pray some kind of prayers (Philippians 4:6-8). Most times, people allow thoughts to fester and try to find a special time to pray about them. Like a bird flying across your head and attempting to perch on it, don’t delay to cancel negative thoughts. Deal with them immediately, with God’s word (Isaiah 54:17). You are victorious! Amen!
