Some years ago, I heard a brother made this statement; “It’s not in everything you would follow the Holy Spirit. You need to use your sensibility, not your sensitivity.” I was surprised as to why he would say such a thing. Obviously, he was promoting the sense realm above the Spirit realm.

Friend, in the school of destiny, the Holy Spirit remains our Number One Teacher. We don’t win in life by sensibility but by sensitivity. The truth is, your spirit knows what your brain does not know (1 Corinthians 2:11-12). Much more, the Holy Spirit knows tomorrow more than you know yesterday. In the journey of life and destiny you have got to learn to follow the Leader; the Holy Spirit.

When you gave your life to Christ, you have have made your most important but final decision in life. Every other decision, going forward, becomes His. The Holy Spirit has not come into your life to take the back seat. He has come to take the driver’s seat; He leads, you follow. For Jesus, the wilderness was not where He wanted to go after baptism but it was where the Holy Spirit chose for Him (Luke 4:1). Jesus needed to go by sensitivity, not sensibility.

There is a dimension of “eyes have not seen, nor ears heard…” that God has planned to bring you into (1 Corinthians 2:9). It is not your sensibility that would usher you into such, but your sensitivity. They are things that can only be revealed by the Spirit, not reasoned out with your brain (1 Corinthians 2:10).

The things of God may not make sense to you, but let them make faith in your heart (Hebrews 4:2). Let your brain always queue behind your spirit in the journey of life and you would not suffer shipwreck. Your brain is too small to lead you, give room for the Holy Spirit. Let Him lead you to where the profits are (Isaiah 48:17, 21).

Learn to pray in tongues. Spend time in worship and meditation. Pay attention to the operations of God’s Spirit and you will enjoy the best that God has packaged for you in life and destiny.
