I sat under a minister of God some years ago. As he taught, I wondered how come he said the same thing I heard the previous day from another minister at a global conference, word for word. When I compared the notes, I realised that he had directly lifted someone else’s message without any addition or subtraction; not even an acknowledgement. I just smiled. But I was blessed all the same.

Friend, don’t run without a message. You are only a messenger to the degree of the authenticity and accuracy of your message (Romans 10:15). Much more than running or being zealous about a task is having clarity about that task. Quite strangely, those who don’t have a message are running faster than those with a message (2 Samuel 18:19-23). Those who don’t have a call seem to have a voice.

You need to be sure that it is not just money or a social media algorithm that is giving you a voice (Acts 8:9-11). While those are equally important, they are only meant to amplify the voice and multiply the impact. But you can have a pseudo voice from them also. Such voices do not last. They cannot stand the test of time or the attack of the devil.

You need clarity as you pursue God’s purpose for your life. It is your clarity and conviction that helps you to stay committed and consistent no matter the times and seasons (Acts 26:19, 22). This is why you need to know, understand, and own the message. You must not give an uncertain sound (1 Corinthians 14:8).

Your message is peculiar to you. You don’t copy another man’s message. Copy-and-paste is not allowed in destiny (John 1:22-23). Your template and pattern are going to be different from others. When you run with another man’s message, you really do not have a message (Acts 19:13-16). You cannot run with a message you have not received.

You cannot receive without staying with God in fellowship (1 Corinthians 11:23, 1 John 1:1-3). Like we see in Moses, ministry is the last thing God wants you to do, but people have made it the first (Exodus 24:12). What have you received from God concerning your life and destiny? What’s your closet life like? Don’t run without a message!
