You can tell when children are not healthy. Just watch their appetite. When you have to force them to eat even their favourite meal, you know something is wrong. I have learned that hunger is a sign of health. Spiritually, it is also a blessing. If you are still hungry, you are still healthy.
Friend, hunger is a blessing. There is always more in God if you will only press in. God’s challenge with His people is that they get satisfied too quickly when He wants to take them deeper (Ephesians 3:20). Till eternity, we cannot exhaust the depths of God. This is why you must keep your hunger alive at all costs.
Hunger is a tool for greatness and enlargement in God’s kingdom (Matthew 5:6). Where your hunger stops, your growth and greatness stop. Hunger does not come naturally. You must pray yourself into it. When you no longer hunger for more of God, check your prayer life and check your associations.
There are people you meet and places you go that will not leave you the same (John 1:50). If you walk with people who think they have arrived, they will make you settle for normal. To see greater things, you must walk with the Great I Am and with those who are still hungry for Him. Your company determines your craving.
Complacency is a thief of destiny, and God calls it a sin (Amos 6:1). Why would God pronounce woe on people just because they are at ease? Because a complacent man limits what God can do in him and through him. God does not want you to contain Him. He wants you to extend Him and His move on earth.
What have you seen in God this year? What fellowship have you enjoyed? What blessings have you received? Whatever it is, know that there is more. Do not shut down yet. Peter was washing his nets when his biggest catch showed up (Luke 5:1-7). Do not pack up yet. Do not rest on your oars. Don’t give room for complacency. There is more.
