A man of God would often visit other ministries, check out their programs and activities, and then implement them in his own church. As a result, he kept leading the church in different directions, based on what he saw others doing. He didn’t know how to receive a vision directly from God. This is a common struggle for many people today.
Friend, do you know how to catch a vision from God? True vision must come from God because He’s the only one who knows tomorrow (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). Trying to live your life by other people’s visions is a recipe for failure and frustration. Let God show you His plan for your life so you can catch the vision (Jeremiah 33:3).
God’s responsibility is to show us His plans or purpose. Our responsibility is to receive or catch it (Habakkuk 2:1-4). It is what God shows that we can put to paper. As the year gradually wraps up, refuse the temptation to craft a vision for your life. Don’t run with a vision that does not originate from God (Jeremiah 23:21).
If God does not give the vision, you cannot expect Him to supply the provision (Genesis 22:14). Most times, people judge God unfaithful, but they are actually the ones who are unfaithful. They are the ones trying to conscript God into an agenda that does not originate from Him (Hebrews 12:2).
The easiest way to get God to walk with you is to embark on His own vision, not your vision (Ephesians 1:11, 2:10). Do what He says to you to do and not what you see people doing. Do what He shows you, not what you craft with your brain. Yield to the Holy Spirit and let your brain queue behind the spirit (Job 32:8).
It is the vision you catch from God that you can run with and not run in vain (1 Corinthians 9:26). Catch the vision in the place of prayer as you meditate on God’s word and His dealings on your life, and via the right exposures. Remember, it is God’s counsel that would stand, not your smartness (Isaiah 46:10-11).
