The other day, I heard the story of two wrestlers who were scheduled for a contest on a particular day. While the day approaches, one of the wrestlers goes to attack the opponent hoping to injure and weaken him before the contest. As you would guess, the injured wrestler lost out at the contest.

Friend, you need to beware of spiritual attacks. One of the reasons you need to monitor your spiritual health is because of the contest of life and destiny. The subtle strategy of the devil is to injure and render you unfit before your day of manifestation. This is why you need to keep fit and healthy (Ephesians 6:10).

You need to watch out for sudden attacks of spiritual sicknesses; prayerlessness, offences, absenteeism in church, etc. It means there is a major contest around the corner. Most times, before the devil launches his attacks on you, he ensures that you are not healthy and strong to fight him; he weakens before he attacks (2 Samuel 3:1).

When a major blessing is on its way into your life, you need to watch out for attacks on your spiritual health. The devil wants you to lose sensitivity, so you would not pick divine signals (Romans 8:14). He wants you to walk in offences instead of love, so you won’t experience the miraculous (Galatians 5:6).

The devil will try to demobilize you, causing you to lose passion and drive, so you can miss divine opportunities (Romans 12:11). While the earnest expectation of the creation waits for your manifestation, the condition with which you climb your stage of destiny is critical to your finishing well and strong (Romans 8:19). This is why you must not joke with your spiritual health.

Don’t let the devil capitalize on your sickness and weakness to take you out of the battle of life. It is not just about making heaven. It is about fulfilling your ultimate destiny (2 Timothy 4:6-8). You must remain fit and healthy because destiny happens every day. You will succeed!
