It was a beautiful Saturday morning. I’d gone to the market to pick up some items. The girls were at the salon. Only Daniel and his mum were home. As soon as I returned, my wife sighed, “Thank God you’re back, I can finally do my chores.” I picked up Daniel and played with him for a while. He got excited and playful, and his mum looked at us and said, “Well done, father and son.” Her statement reminded me of God’s fatherhood.

Friend, the highest title God bears is Father, while the highest title you can bear as a born-again person is son (John 1:12). I wish people would focus on their sonship more than their titles. Titles like pastor, apostle, teacher, prophet, evangelist are fine, but they only work if you understand your sonship (Ephesians 4:11-13).

God is building a kingdom – a father-and-son kingdom. Until you grasp this, you’ll operate below God’s plan for you. The Pharisees and Sadducees didn’t argue with Jesus being a prophet or teacher, but when He called God His Father, they wanted to stone Him (John 5:17-20). They couldn’t handle the truth of His sonship.

What about you? Will you bask in your sonship or keep arguing about titles? The devil doesn’t respect your title; he respects your mantle (Acts 19:11-17). He respects the authority of your sonship (John 1:12). Sonship is the key to kingdom manifestation (Isaiah 8:18, 9:6).

A true father cares, coaches, corrects, and commissions. God’s plan is for you to receive love and training as a son, then be released to manifest destiny (Matthew 3:17, John 3:35, 5:20). This father-son relationship is God’s pattern for families and churches. Until it works, the kingdom won’t be fully expressed (Malachi 4:6).

If you’re in a local church, be there as a son or daughter, and accept the pastor as a father. Don’t just be there as an attendee. Submit to training and moulding. Receive care, coaching, and correction, and get commissioned for your manifestation (Psalms 127:3-5, 144:11-15).
