My son loves being the family food announcer! He’s always hovering near the kitchen, especially when my wife is cooking. He’s developed a keen sense of the cooking process, but sometimes he gets impatient and thinks the food is ready before it actually is. He’ll grab his plate and ask for his portion, but when told to wait, he gets upset, feeling like mom is being too slow.

Friend, God is never slow (2 Peter 3:9). He’s also never late. His timing and method are perfect. Learning to trust the timing, method, and process of God is the true definition of patience. When you believe that God has His way and season for things in your life, it would help you to be at peace (Isaiah 28:16). It is from the standpoint of peace that we receive what He has ordained for us.

Some people don’t argue that God can or will do stuff for them. But they want to determine the method (Isaiah 55:8-9). They want to choose the place, people, and process that God would use to bring His word to pass in their lives. When these don’t go their way, they begin to doubt God. Some even begin to fabricate their own methods. They try to use human effort to achieve divine promise (Zechariah 4:6).

Like Abraham, you may not doubt that your Isaac would come, but would you wait for Sarah to conceive, or would you go ahead and impregnate Hagar (Genesis 16:1-16)? If it is not Isaac, then it is not the promised child. If it is not God’s way and method, it is not God’s blessing. The timing may be right, but if the method is wrong, the whole purpose is defeated (Isaiah 46:10-11).

Wait for your Isaac. God is never slow. When the pressure from the enemy or people around is at the highest, it means that God’s answer is just around the corner (Genesis 17:17-19). Don’t let the devil or man take the glory for what God already planned to do. Sadly, not many people can beat their chests that the testimony thay share in church is entirely God (Isaiah 42:8).

The future does not belong to the man doing it quick. It belongs to the man doing it right (Proverbs 14:12). Sometimes, you would have to endure mockery and shame waiting for God. People may think you are not smart. Some might even think that something is wrong with you (Hebrews 12:2). But you need to always remind yourself that he that waits for God can never be late.
